Located in the heart of Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays, The Old Customs House is one of the few original naval buildings, spread over two floors, the impress Grade I listed building is owned but London's Fuller's Brewery. Built in 1790, it is presumed by English Heritage to be the first recorded, purpose built office building in the world. The building was converted into a pub in 200 by the George Gale & Co. brewery which is now owned by Fullers.

The Hole in the Wall is a small, friendly pub and probably one of the best in Portsmouth. It offers a great selection of beers from Brodies, Marble, Tiny Rebel, Dark Star and many more. It has been awarded Portsmouth & S.E.Hants CAMRA Pub Of The Year 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
