The Wheatsheaf is housed in the vaults of the old Hop Exchange in Southwark, London. The Wheatsheaf used to be located around the corner in Stoney Street but closed in 2009 so that the top floor of the building could be removed for the creation of a new railway viaduct. The pub was owned by Youngs and managed by Red Car Pubs. Red Car took over the vaults of the Hop Exchange around the corner and opened the Wheatsheaf but in December 2012, Youngs reopened the original Wheatsheaf in Stoney Street. All very confusing.
