Tasting a glass of Brewer's Art Green Peppercorn Tripel

Sampling the Great Lakes Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout at a party. Yes, it really is as good as Beer Advocate users say.

A bottle of Sexual Chocolate from Foothills Brewing as spotted at a private Beer Advocate tasting. Delicious beer! I'll be featuring more photos from this tasting in the coming days. It was strictly for cellared, aged, one offs, limited or rare beers.

We have many great local businesses that cater to the craft beer scene here in Rochester. One of those is Nathaniel Square Corner Store in the South Wedge. NSCS is located next door to John's Tex Mex, which also serves a great craft beer selection. Not in the mood for Mexican? NSCS serves up fantastic breakfasts and lunches. Looking for a new beer to try? NSCS regularly does craft beer tastings at the store. Follow them on twitter at @nathanielsquare. How many beers in this shot can you name?

Everyone loves a Hook Norton beer...even my cat. She loves to eat all my favourite foods so it's really no surprise that she is showing interest in one of my favourite breweries. This was a Hook Norton Double Stout. Unfortunately I had to pay highly inflated prices to get this beer here in the states.

Ettaler Curator Doppelbock. A fantastically yummy beer. Be sure to check out the brewery history here. Picture taken late at night at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

Some colourful bottles of the Belgian beer Floris taken at Beers of Europe in King's Lynn, England. If you've never visited Britain's Biggest Beer Shop, here's a video tour.

Some friends and I have started a new Homebrew club in Rochester, the Homebrewers of Rochester (HoRs). We met on Tuesday and one of our members was kind enough to bring a bottle of Rock Art Brewery's Vermonster. You know it as the beer that Monster Energy Drinks tried to get banned. A very tasty beer indeed. This is the aftermath of our meeting. Empty growlers, water for rinsing and the Vermonster.
