The small village of Avoncliff, a short train journey south of Bath, has a very popular pub with possibly one of the best beer gardens in the UK. The Cross Guns dates back to the 16th century and its beer garden stretches down many terraces to the edge of the River Avon. The aqueduct carries the Kennet and Avon Canal and construction of the bridge was completed in 1801. You can view the rest of the beer garden in this photo.

There are some outstanding beer gardens in Cumbria, north west England. This one can be found in Langdale in a remote part of Cumbria. The large garden has plenty of seating and fantasic views of the surrounding mountains. They also have a good selection of beer. This is the view from the beer garden looking towards the mountains. You can view more photos and read a review of the pub at Travels with Beer.
