The small village of Avoncliff, a short train journey south of Bath, has a very popular pub with possibly one of the best beer gardens in the UK. The Cross Guns dates back to the 16th century and its beer garden stretches down many terraces to the edge of the River Avon. The aqueduct carries the Kennet and Avon Canal and construction of the bridge was completed in 1801. You can view the rest of the beer garden in this photo.
